What is the best method for cleaning the fabric border of a sisal rug?

If the boarder is nylon or wool, apply cornstarch to the soiled areas and rub with a nylon vegetable brush. Then vacuum.Helpful Reply -

I got a bissell spot and stain remover and it works great on narrow areas like that. Before I got that I would use oxyclean dissolved in warm water and a scrub brush. Then I would scrub the heck out of it and use a towel to blot any excess waterHelpful Reply -

I would use water and soap but I don´t know wheter sisal rugs shrink with water. Some stains are from spilling drinks, some others were produced by pets.
