What is the best method for cleaning the fabric border of a sisal rug?

Is it outdoor? Could use power washer and hang to dry. Stiff brush with DAWN scrubbing. -

People often dye or paint the borders of these rugs when they become discolored. -

If the boarder is nylon or wool, apply cornstarch to the soiled areas and rub with a nylon vegetable brush. Then vacuum. -

I got a bissell spot and stain remover and it works great on narrow areas like that. Before I got that I would use oxyclean dissolved in warm water and a scrub brush. Then I would scrub the heck out of it and use a towel to blot any excess water -
