How do I keep the stair risers clean and free of scuff marks?
My stair risers are painted white, the steps are hardwood. Although I scrub the scuff marks off with a magic eraser, they return in a relatively short period of time. What can be done to keep the risers from having scuff marks at all?

Coat the paint with a clear polyurethane, which is more scuff resistant than paint.
Put and old tennis ball on a pole (I use the end of my broom handle) and use the ball to gently buff away scuff marks without having to stoop over.
