Smells like the dickens. Used febreeze, shout odor and stain and oust odor removal and no luck. The couch has feathers as well as Polly fill. Should I remove the cover and chance washing in washing machine? Any suggestions?

  • Yikes! Is the dog ok? I would air out the cushions in the sun between an old sheet. Turn the cover inside out and hang out side in the sun for a bit and see if that helps. Place some charcoal in the room to help absorb odor.

Plain old white vinegar, it works for every thing.

First, use a 2:1 vinegar:water mixture and apply generously. You can also try a 2:1 lemon juice:water mixture (smells better!) and before it is completely dry, put down a thin layer or baking soda and let dry. If you can, try to air the couch and cushions outside for as loooong as you can. Then vacuum the dried baking soda. Arm & Hammer Carpet Fresh for Pets works great, too (get it at the dollar store!)
