Buy vinyl cream. Rub it all over. Rub it until it is not sticky. You may need many cloths. The tar and nicotine has invaded the vinyl.

Have you turned the couch over and cleaned it out too? Might find some cigarette butts. (I once found a half-full baby milk bottle inside a couch..peeyew!) If you like incense, it can help. Placing the couch outside for a good airing out helps. I recently saw an idea to sprinkle bleach crystals on the fabric part, under cushions, let them sit a bit and vacuum. I tried this on a mattress and it worked really well. You could also place incense sticks or those scented wax potpourri cubes in the corners until they replace the smoke smell. Listerine is a good smell remover too.

I have not gone inside the couch set but have cleaned the surface 8 times. Must better. I have also shampooed the cloth this is staples under the set. So if I take the cloth off from under the couch set how would I go about getting the smell out from inside the set. The guts so to speak. When setting outside how long do I keep it out in the sun.

iT IS VERY DIFFICULT. I wouldn't buy it if it smelled that strong of cigarettes.
