Need to refinish bedside tables from bad water stains

Try dabbing black tea on water stains. If this doesn't look better maybe sand top of b/side table & revarnish or shelack. -

Barkeeper's Friend may be a good solution to your problem. Make a thick paste, mixing it with water. Apply a small amount to an inconspicuous area of the wood surface, to make sure it does not have a negative affect. Cover the stain and let it sit until it dries out. Reapply until the stain is gone.
