Remove gummed folder labels from a metal filing cabinet

Bought an old metal filing cabinet in good shape but it has 25 or 30 gummed filing folder labels stuck on the front of it. What is the best way to remove these gummed labels without damaging the metal?

WD-40 or I have even used Pledge with lemon oil. Spray generously and let it soak for a minute or two. Peel off the label. What paper remains, spray again and the use a soft cloth to rub off the remaining paper and goo.

De-Solv-It ~ It's the best for removing labels, removing stains in clothing and I use it to clean my stainless appliances. It's organic too!

I use olive oil, put it on leave it for an hour; then I use a plastic kitchen scraper and it comes off easy. I did this on an old 2 drawer filing cabinet; then cleaned it and painted it lime green.......new end table for my sewing room.

Gum off or Goof Off both available at the Dollar Store removes labels with ease. Just wipe on and wipe off.
