If the mayo doe snot work. Try Restore-A -Finish. Rub with the grain with a soft cloth. Wipe off with a 2nd cloth. Wear gloves. About $9.00 a can. -

Sometimes you can rub mayonaise in the wood in a circular motion with a clean cloth. If that does not work, we use Old English furniture polish to color over mistakes. It often does the trick, nearly always. If that does not work you might consider sanding and re-staining it. -

You can use heat- empty all the water from your iron and place a folded piece of cloth over the stained area of wood. The cloth can be anything from an old T-shirt, to a pillow case. Turn the iron to its lowest setting and let it heat on top of the cloth. Stay nearby to monitor, and check after a minute or so to see if any change has been made in the stain. If after a few tries there is no progress, then raise the heat of your iron by one setting at a time.
