What is the weird residue after I took off plastic protective wrap?

Hey guys. Me and my husband recently created a kitchen island using stock cabinets from Lowe’s. we just took of the plastic wrap last night and they were fine. When we woke up they had this weird gray dirty film on them? It won’t come off with any cleaner only if you rub it with your finger. It’s also where we took of the plastic wrap inside the fridge. Is this something that happens with new stuff? I can’t find anything on the internet about it. I’m thinking it’s just reside from the wraps but I’m worried it could be something more serious like mold or mildew.

Thanks. Goo gone worked. I hope that it was just the residue. I’ll update if it happens again for some reason. 👍🏻
