We have had hardwood floors in our 7 different homes and have used a lot of HW floor products over the years. We stopped using the steam mop when it started blistering off the finish at the seams on a new traditional oil based sealed oak hw floor installation.
The past two years we have been using the BONA mop and solution and we're very pleased with the results.
Nothing is really quick or easy when it comes to cleaning floors, but I am assuming your floors are wood - I use the Bona cleaner for wood, a natural product that does not create a build-up on your floors. They sell a spray mop cleaner that is wonderful and easy to use too.

Bona is also my favorite because it is very gentle. Always use soft, dry rags to wipe dry after spraying.
