How do I clean black sooty marks from a cream marble fireplace

looking for a cleaner for cream marble fireplace to remove all the soot marks, nothing seems to shift them

Hi Alison. Have you tried a magic eraser? I would test a small hidden area to make sure it doesn't dull the marble first. -

Unfortunately, marble is more porous than granite or quartz.. It needs to be resealed about once per year. Contact some of the local stone or granite (counter top) suppliers... they may have a product that will help or know if it can be re-polished to remove the discoloration. -

There is a thick sponge that cleaning companies use to remove soot off walls, lampshades and many other surfaces. We carry it at our local painting store. It’s called a dry-cleaning sponge. You don’t use water just Wipe with the sponges. Maybe worth a try .......good luck . -

Try using play-doh to rub the soot off. This was the original purpose for it.
