i cut a lemon in half, dipped it into baking soda and covered every inch. using the cut lemon like a scrubby. I think I sat them on a piece of alum foil before washing them. As I recall it worked well.
The lemon and baking soda tip is great. I used to be worried it'd alter the appearance, but it doesn't. It's a lot safer than the commercial copper/brass cleaners out there!
Commercial copper cleaners often contain harsh chemicals, but you can naturally clean copper with materials usually already found in your home. Vinegar and salt: Rub a mixture of 1 tablespoon of table salt and 1 cup of white vinegar onto the copper with a soft cloth and rinse.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...
