Hi Jacee. I'm Cindy. Put your books in a box with a dish of charcoal. Keep the books open. This takes time. Perhaps a week or two. Baking Soda will also work to remove bad smells. Good luck Jacee.

I have read that closing items in a sealed box with a container of ground coffee will remove just about any unpleasant smells.
