How do you clean a burn mark off silver?

A Sterling silver tray was overheated, & has a "burn stain" on it. (As if you sat an empty hot pot on a stove burner & turned it on & left it for a few minutes.) The mark is Purplish.

Remove mild burn stains on your sterling silver tray with white toothpaste. Apply a dab of white toothpaste to an old soft-bristled toothbrush dampened with plain water, and scrub the burn stains. Rinse the toothbrush off as it lifts the burn stains, and add more toothpaste so you can continue to polish.

Hi Sharee. You can remove the burn mark with white toothpaste and an old soft toothbrush. Apply the white toothpaste to an old soft-bristled toothbrush dampened with plain water. Scrub the burn stain and add more toothpaste, as needed, so you can continue to polish.
