Use a pumice stone, pour white vinegar followed by baking soda in the tank and toilet
dip out water to get it away from ring, place a paper towel soaked with cleaning vinegar over the ring, let it soak for 15 minutes or so. Remove towel and then flush. If the ring is rough, you may have to scrape the worst of it off before soaking. Repeat if needed.
Buy the bleach toilet bowl cleared that also cleans the toilet. Check the various brands and follow the directions. This will also reduce the cleaning effort and frequency. Works great for rings also.
The vinegar could work also but I use a pumice stone made just for that purpose. Lowe's or Home Depot. It works very well.
Spray with white vinegar also a tip pour white vinegar into the tank once in a while it's rusty in there and the water will stain your bowl
