I've tried this method several times, doesn't work well for me we have well water.  Me, personally speaking comet and a soft brush with little water, let it sit and rinse. If it's real bad try it twice.....I also used a spray bleach from Walmart that works great too., it seems different from the big bottle bleach, takes off scum everything I use that on my stove and counters, and the bathroom.  works great 2.00 spray bleach and comet I think 1.29

I've used a combination of 50/50 white vinegar and blue Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray it on after a shower and let it sit. Then go back and scrub with a stiff toilet brush. Rinse with clear water.

I use soft scrub. It is thick enough to stay on and I leave it for about an hour or so then go in and rinse. No more mold-mildew or stains. That is what I had after loaning my home out. Works great!!
