I have seen many design shows in the past use Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom aerosol foam on sooty brick and stone FPs. They sprayed it on left it for a few minutes then rinsed off with warm soapy water. I tried it on a granite grave marker that had years of built on moss and dirt. I was afraid to ruin it, so I rinsed first, left it on for only about 30 seconds, then rinsed off, and I was amazed by the results. If you want to try it, I would wet the stone 1st, and try it in a tiny inconspicuous area, leave on really briefly then wash off, and see what happens after it dries.

  I tried Scrubbing Bubbles last night. Had to do three applications. We applied, waited a couple minutes, then used a scrub brush and a sponge. Looks much better. Thanks!

50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. Wipe off with a soft towel.

The best cleaner I have found is Crud cutter use a terrycloth wash cloth
