I clean as much of the hair from the brushes and put into the bathroom sink filled with hot water and baking soda; let stand for a while and rinse. I also add all of my combs and sometimes I will need to use a brush (old toothbrush) to clean better. Rinse and let dry.

I would give them a good soak in the sink with really hot water and a few squirts of shampoo. Swish them around a few times. The gunk should come off easily.

Dry your hair with a cotton tee shirt instead of a towel. You won’t get all those towel fibers in your hair brush. Makes brush cleaning with some shampoo a breeze.
