For non-porous surfaces, nothing beats good ole' fashioned bleach or ammonia, if the odors are not a problem and your plumbing / septic system allows. Clean with a designated toilet brush with some baking soda (as an abrasive) while making the area well-ventilated - i.e. open a window and / or turn on exhaust fan, etc.)

Use a solution of your favorite cleaning soap and white vinegar, or just use a cup of white vinegar in a gallon of water. Vinegar is a great killer and deterrent for any types of molds and mildews

The vanish bleach tablets (they go in the tank)work great along with regular cleaning with a toilet bowl cleaner. I like Lysol, leaves a fresh smell.

pour white vinegar followed by baking soda in the tank, proceed to your normal cleaning methods after this has sat.

I like those cleansers in tablet form that contain bleach, not the ones that turn the water blue. Use those & regular cleaning with a toilet brush & another cleaner with bleach should take care of it, do not mix bleach with ammonia.

I previously used the tablet that had bleach and blue combined and now there's a deposit in my toilet tank that looks moldy. How do I get rid of it?

Hello Tina; What I personally do to prevent this is to use spray Bleach. It comes in a bottle, and you can purchase it anywhere.

I spray this, once a week and I never have any issues!!!

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

I use a spray bottle with 10% bleach solution, a rubber glove and a sponge.

For hard calcium like mold, I use a pummy stone, sold in hardware stores to go around the under rim of the stool to get it clean......be sure it is wet when you use it. May take a little while to get it done but it will work. Then when it is clean, from then on use bleach in a spray bottle each week.
