How to clean an outdoor plastic storage container

Question

I have one of those outdoor storage containers that I keep all my gardening tools in. It's large and that outdoor heavy plastic. It's stained and I can't get it clean. Any suggestions ?

You can try a heavy duty detergent, and try bleach.  Scrub it down well and then power wash it.

You don't mention the type of stains. Depending on what the stains are, you could try a number of different products. Wink is a rust remover if you have rusty spots from tools. If it's mildew, try a paste of cream of tartar and peroxide and scrub it well after leaving it to penetrate. If all else fails, you can easily spray paint the container and give it a little new life with a Fusion spray from Krylon. No prep work required, just wipe the dust off and spray! Best of luck!

Always take precautions when you're trying combinations of different cleaning solutions, too. Moving from one solution to another can cause toxic fumes or other harsh chemical reactions. As an example, the combination of peroxide and mineral spirits can cause combustion of the first product is not completely washed, dried and removed before using the second.
