How to get smell of crab legs out of my steaming basket.

Vinegar and water mix
I always steam my crab with vinegar in the water to prevent the pot from stinking up the whole house. Then I wash it out, and let sit with some Dawn and add borax which is great at removing odors.

Boil water with drop of vinegar in steamer..........
You can try scrubbing the basket with baking soda. Baking soda will absorb many smells. I hope this will work for you.
Have you tried calling the manufacturer of the steamer. Or call in or write to a Crab house and ask how they manage ????
