Spin mop dilemma

I have a spin mop and pail. It's great..and I really like it but....anyone have any ideas on how to dry the mophead without leaving it in the bucket spin part forever? It ends up smelling...and NEVER drying. I've tried it all...I must be mssing something

Never thought about this problem. You could use a little bleach in the water to rinse it before storing. Isn't the mop head machine washable?

  • I always dry mine mop end up. I have a spot in the garage during inclement weather and place in the shade outside until they dry. Then return to their storage location. See if that helps. I live in a really dry climate, so that does make a difference.

You could toss the mop head in the dryer with out a dryer sheet or anything and it should be fine.

I just hang mine. Have a hook in the utility room and after getting as much water as possible out by spinning it I hang it up and by the next day it is dry. Does help that it hangs by the dryer so it is warm.

I remove the head, put in the wash with my cleaning towels. Or by it self with bit of soap and bit of bleac, put on lower time on washing machine, put to hand to dry.

hang it from something/somewhere that gets good air circulation - maybe from your shower curtain rod ... or on a 'good' day, outdoors in the sun would be the best

I do stand it upright..not much better. It's usually standing out my back door against the house....annoying..

hahah..no way that nasty thing is going in my wash and I am not spending time and energy$$$ on the dryer. I guess what I do is about it. Soak it in bleach and detergent...ring it out and let it sit upside down.
thanks to all. Just with this snow...it's always damp and annoying to me !
