Karine We on Dec 23, 2015You can heat it, the varnish will burn, but be careful not to breathe the fumes. After that dip your bowl in a solution of hot vinegar and salt (1 cup vinegar for 1 spoon of salt) to remove the oxydation. Then polish.Helpful Reply

Suzette Trimmer on Dec 23, 2015For less than $1.00 grab bottle of ketchup and wipe or soak in ketchup whatever works best depending on size. Leave on for 24 hours and then scrub and bluff your copper.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Dec 24, 2015Have a really old house. The brass fittings for doors, etc. had some top finish worn off and some finish left. I used furniture stripper, washed well, polished, and then used Clear Coat spray (auto section of hardware stores) - never have to polish again. Try a small spot first as a precaution.Helpful Reply
