I haven't tried it myself, but my neighbor swears by a mix of 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup olive oil. Polishes the wood right up.
the above mix does an amazing job of cover fine scratches!!
Thanks for sharing - I'm a little hesitant to use oil on my floors, won't it get greasy? I'll have to test it on a small area. My main concern is how to get the ingrained black out of the wood grooves now that the varnish has worn off, without damaging the wood.
