What is an Eco Friendly way to get rid of rust in cast iron?

I have a John Wright cast iron pan that has rust in it. Please help. Thanks in advance, for any replies.

a bit of water dish soap and a metal scrubby. Rinse in hot water. Dry over a stove burner. Check that all rust is gone, if so then reseason the pan -

Wash all rust off. then coat inside with cooking oil. and cure the iron pan by putting it into the oven under low heat for an hour or so. -

I have used a quick spritz of spray oven cleaner I had on hand from years ago. waited 5 minutes rinsed, then scrubbed with steel wool and SOS.. worked like a charm.. Not best for the environment, but recycled at the haz mat collection place after.. -
