Every once in a while, I'll take mine off if they really get dirty. I fill a pot with hot water and add Dawn (it's a great degreaser). I let them soak until the water gets cool, ten scrub each one with a toothbrush to remove all that buildup. I also like to use a microfiber cloth to finish them up by polishing them dry. If they are tarnished, there are polishes available but plain white toothpaste also makes a good polish. If you're having tarnish issues, I'd use a satin spray sealer to seal them so they don't tarnish in the future. Wishing you the best.

You should not clean Pewter it is supposed to be grey! If you don't like them, change them up!
I found the best way is to remove the knobs and soak them for at least an hour in warm water and dawn.
