What can I do about cat smell?

I have a lot of cats in my yard stray cats they r ruining my lawn and the smell is awful what can I do front yard too they r using it as a litter box I don't want to hurt them just don't want them doing this.HELP

There are motion activated sensors that you can hook up to your garden hose, When the kitties come by they will be sprayed with a burst of water and they hate being wet. You can get these at the big box stores-Lowes, Home Depot.
