How do I clean aluminum flashing?

The white flashing on the front of my home is filthy. Looks black in spots. I presume that stuff from the roof slides down and stains it.

Flashing or gutters? You can paint your flashing usually to match roof. If you have a small single level, you can wash down the gutters hot dawn soap and water. My father in law, couldn't stand them setting dirty either. Once they were good and cleaned he applied car wax to them every spring, never got stained again. He could easily reach the gutters on a 10' ladder too.
I used Brillo soap pads to clean mine. Waxing sounds like it would be a good second step to keep the flashing clean.
We wash our entire home's outside siding with Oxy Clean, then my hubby used Gel-Gloss RV Wash and Wax - 128 oz. - WW-128 (about $24 on Amazon), which offers some protection to the siding to keep it from getting dirty so quickly.
