How to remove rust spots on chrome bicycle fenders?

Have a couple of old bikes that've been stored in my garage for ages. Took them out to sell and discovered they're speckled with little rust spots on the chrome fenders and handlebars.

You can buy chrome cleaner in the automotive section. It works well. -

Take fine grit steel wool and gently rub the rust away
