I made some masks for my grandchildren that was not the pleated but the other style. I just took the adult pattern I made and cut it down. It was a tiny bit of trial & error to get it exact but I did with notebook paper for a pattern.

If you are interested in that style, I could send you the pattern our office supplied us. I can't attach here but would be happy to email it to you.

A lot depends on your child's face size. Measure from ear to ear, 1 inch away. That's the width. Then, measure from mid nose to under the chin plus 1/2 inch.. That's the length. You usually have a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch seam. Good luck

For my granddaughter (and her doll) I measured her sweet face for where it would be covered, made it double thickness with a pocket for a filter, and then pleated the sides to make it snug on her face. Her doll had tie straps because her ears were too little for the adjustable ear loops I made for my granddaughter! I used a small folded in seam on both pieces of fabric before sewing them. I got out the iron to make the seams lie smooth before sewing them. The others provided great links by the way. Good luck and stay safe!
