Hi Maureen,
It may help if you explain your budget, your experience and how big the dog is. Also what type of material were you hoping to use.
You can use the decorative push in the ground garden fencing you can find at Menards, Home Depot and Lowes. It would be in the garden center. This would work for a small dog as you can get different heights. Consider whether or not your dog could/would jump over the enclosure or dig to get out. I have put cement sidewalk blocks under my fenced dog enclosure so my dog could not dig out. Those stores also have many other fencing options. Some options would be easy to set up as you can push the posts into the ground and then attach the fencing.
Ty I will pass info to my daughter
I have just regular garden fencing, the metal, with the pound in posts (post pounding red handled thingy worked great). However, my mom has two pits, and we had to also add chicken wire on the bottom half and she has spent the entire summer repairing sections they tore trying to get to ground hogs. You can also put chicken wire out about two feet (on the inside laid on the ground) to prevent some of the digging. IF the stuff on the other side of the fence is too interesting, there will be trouble keeping them in. My dogs are well trained, and they still get hyped about ground hogs and tug at the gating.
