Curtains for 42 inch hall closet door opening

Question

I have taken off broken bi fold doors in my hall closet and hung curtains temporary but its been years now and I am wondering what else can be used the door opening is 42 inches wide and I do not want bi fold doors again one side of the opening is exactly next to a bedroom door wall and the bathroom door is on the other side. There is another bedroom door across the hall. Any suggestions on what kinds of ideas are out there help.

I don’t know if this appeals or works for you, but.

My pantry had bifold - hated. Convinced the carpenter to do this, which in my case involved cutting down the door.

He split the bifold, filled the hinge marks and painted. Each side of the door is on three fold-all-the-way back hinges.

A-Sliding barn door is one option. Can be finished to match any decor but will not interfere-with other doors when not in use. Hope this helps

Go old school and do what the hippies used to do hang a tapestry. There are lots of designs of tapestries now days.

How about a roman shade? It could be very decorative and would not interfere with the many other doors you have in that area and would be a change from the curtains.
