How can I make tasteful Christmas decorations?

I really don't have much to offer in the way of supplies to make Christmas more festive in my house. I have some wood and paint. I'm not sure how to make my house look like I have celebrated anyting it's dark and dingy looking

Cut stars out of a cardboard box all different sizes, paint the Stars White or gray whatever and then cover them in glue and sprinkle glitter all over them

How much wood do you have.

Can you make a wooden Christmas tree, like those pallet ones.

You could paint branches or cones. Then hang baubles, lights tinsel from this.

You could also make Christmas welcome signs.
