You can purchase cheap paper from a newspaper. Sometimes almost free and long lengths is 10 to 20yds. Spray paint whatever specific theme. Maybe " helping hands" would've a pair of rubber gloves in multiple sizes.and sprayed around each pair onto the paper. Endless ideas using the long rolls of paper.
Joy...Use some mason jars with candles or tealights. Cut some pine and place around the jar. Lay some small Christmas balls on the pine. You can also spray pine with some artificial snow. Just simple but very pretty. You can also use holly and eliminate ornaments and snow.
Joy! That is always a great deal of fun to decorate for a church get together. People appreciate it so much.
I use lanterns that are my families, also I use a lot of my Dad's wood things he made, trays with handles, etc. I always load them with goodies like pretzels, nuts, etc. I also use brown paper I buy on rolls from Amazon. So much Fun. I have the kids in my Bible class color scenes, glue coloring book pages on them they have colored.

How many tables? What size? Round or 6' banquet tables?
Any table cloths in stock?
If you have access to evergreen trees or holly, use small limbs as centerpieces. Excess Christmas wrapping paper you bought last year can be table runners. Individual wrapped candy canes can be grouped together in jars or odd glasses as "vases" on the tables. If you have a bit of glitter, it can be scattered on the table for extra glitz. Even your Christmas tree ornaments can be placed in glass bowls as a centerpiece.
Get your church family involved. Use clear trifle bowls, clear bowls and put round ornaments in them. Use what everyone has. Most people like to be included and you can come up with beautiful unique decorations. Also if you have access to magnolia leaves you can spray paint them gold or silver and put a candle in the middle or arrange ornaments around them. I have also used my angel collection or Christmas village collection with a few on each table.
