How do you get the clean finish writing on wood projects?

I bought paint markers and i also use acrylic paint, but feel it doesn’t look clean as it does in this picture below.

    Hi Ashley,

It takes practice. You could use stencils for the letters which might give you more of crisp look. Are you wanting to create what is in the image? or you did that one? it is cute!

Try different sized artist brushes, you may find one that is great for writing letters. Keep the brush from being overloaded with paint and make sure you have steady hands. The pointed tipped ones can give you a crisper line, just use the tip, not the whole brush. I used to use acrylics when I painted when I was young, and used a fine pointed tip to make outlines on some of the things in the pictures I painted. I was able to get a crisp line that way with the acrylics.

I haven't done art painting in years, I didn't have time to do anything once I was out of school and working, I wasn't that good, and when my parents moved my senior year, they didn't get into the same art I liked to do, so I kind of got stifled and lost interest. My brother was the artist in the family, he still does his art and I live vicariously through him.
