Hot glue... some plastic hates any glue, and even hot glue may be unsuitable.

Plastic can be any of several types. I'm thinking of a flexible bowl made of polyethylene or PETE, and attaching anything to these with adhesive will be a short-term proposition. In addition to nearly any adhesive not getting a "bite" on the plastic, flexing the bowl will cause the rigid stones to crack loose. Now if you are using an non-flexible bowl you may get adequate results using a silicone adhesive similar to caulk but stickier. I still would not expect it to withstand much handling.

Good Morning Altagrundlingh02, WHAT A GREAT QUESTION! I have actually been telling myself to look this one up since I am thinking of doing a project involving these same materials (small world, eh?) .... Well, here is a website I found that addresses the question specifically. I hope it helps you (and me) to "get'er done right," as my Granny would say ;) Good Luck and thanks so much for asking Hometalk for answers :)
