Hi Cathy. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I sandwiched a photo between two pieces of plexiglass sealed with silicone. It lasted about 8 years before the sun faded the photo. I was able to pry it apart and reuse it successfully. Buffing with a soft dry rag kept it clean.

  • Use a frame, lay the photo where you want it, then pour resin over the photo.

Sorry for your loss. A wood or metal frame should work as long as it can be sealed. You can also try a UV film on the glass to help preserve the photo.

first of all, sincere condolences...secondly, assuming you mean a frame, it really should be metal and even then it really should have a finish touchup done yearly, anything is going to weather, irregardless of where you live. and the nicer it is, the more apt someone will admire it and it will disappear, happens a lot. take a walk thru a large cemetary and see what others have used. you will at least get an idea whats possible.. talk to a place that sells markers, don’t have to buy from them, just listen to what they sell, then get your own idea. tis company ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/WindyRidgeCreationCo?ref=l2-shopheader-name) sells porcelain ones with embeded photo that you would epoxy on a head stone for $50..just remember, nothing lasts forever except memories and thise are better than carved in atone

What about cement? Maybe something like a stepping stone idea?
