How about you paint them with chalk paint? They do it to furniture. You could definitely brighten them up and perhaps add stripes or dots. I'm about to do that to one of mine.
Who sells chalk paint? I have never heard of it before. Does it come in multiple colors? It sounds like a good idea.
My friend did a living room makeover and used chalk paint on her thrift store lamp shades. Each lamp was different but using the same paint on the shades brought them together for a unified look. Very nice. Here is a great article on diy chalk paint! Tonditillman87 http://salvagedinspirations.com/best-homemade-chalk-paint-recipes/
thank you, I think I will order the inexpensive CC and get some paint. Have you ever tried using food coloring to come up with the finished color you want? Or would I have to buy the exact paint color I want?
Use the spray they use to change the color of a fabric shoe?
Smart idea!
Consideration: a fabric shade as is, allows the light to filter through the shade. If you paintthe shade does it then loose the ability to disperse the light through the shade.? It would no longer be opaque.
Thank You !
Paint is one way, but it will block some of the light. Another option may be dyeing them.
Hi Tondi, hope this helps you out.
