The shelf in the corner is cute but it and the picture to the left need to come down. Too much hanging in the same area at the same height. Every space on a wall doesn't have to be filled with something.

I think beadboard wallpaper would look very nice on the lower half of your walls. Right up to the boarder.
Why not? There's even peel and stick beadboard wallpaper. Or if you have access to a saw, there's large beadboard wall panels for about $20 each at home improvement stores. Already primed, you could add trim molding and paint. Would look really cute.
