Does anyone have any tricks for glue gun strings?

It seems that the strings are everywhere on my projects. I pull them off, but is there any trick to avoid them all together?

It is hard to explain, but I kind of twirl and dab then pull the glue gun away with no strings. You just need to test and "play" with a technique that works for you and the project you are working on. My girlfriend uses popsicle sticks to place, dab, twist and remove.
Like she said... practice taking your finger off the trigger and doing a sort of twirl before pulling gun away.. practice will get you there.
Quick twirl to the left or right, then dab off onto your project.
Use a hairdryer after you finish with the glue gun.
