Yes it does. It used to be a popular color scheme but one that is not seen very much anymore.

I would do a print color ion the curtains, large plaid maybe with burgundy being primary and blue hues.

  • try to tie the colors together with throw pillows or art. I think they look lovely together but above all, you have to live with it.

I love it. That’s most important. If you like it that’s all that matters

Blue is in the same color family as green and burgundy is just a darker tone of red, therefore, they are (almost) opposites on a color wheel and, therefore, are considered a “Complimentary” color scheme. So, in a nutshell, yes, they can work fine in a room.

If you find the room a bit dark when done, consider bringing some touches of cream into the room to lighten things up a bit. A cream throw or a few toss cushions or some cream flowers in a vase can add some life to the room. If you dislike your lamps, they can also be painted a cream color.

Navy, burgundy and cream are classic colors that are beautiful together. When all the drab grays, taupe, whites and neutrals have gone out of style, navy, burgundy and cream will always look elegant! If you have a unifying pattern of the 3 colors together, such as a rug, curtains, or a framed print, that will help "pull" everything else you use in the 3 colors together. Hope this makes sense.

yes, they'll work. However, add a third color...something like goldenrod or umber or dull school bus yellow. You need patter in the room, patterned throws or pillows, and textures too. Don't forget area rugs, lamps, and trinkets.
