Amazon sells a nice glass paint kit with an assortment of colors. There are stained glass patterns available on the internet and I changed one to the dimensions of my window, printed on a printer, and laid the door on top of it. Used black hot-melt glue tracing the pattern to simulate lead caming. The paint goes on a drop at a time from the bottles to fill the spaces. If the lighting is not directly on your door you will fool most people who see it. Mine does.
