You can use light weight pvc molding and adhesive to place it on the edge, or get creative with stencils and glass paint. You can paint or etch a frame right on the glass

There are so many decorative trims in Lumber Departments. Pick one you like. Use a miter box and saw to cut your angles. Paint, stain....Glue them on. Done. And they are not expensive..

I recently purchased a very nice 1 in decorative trim 8 feet long for less than $10. And that was one of the most expensive.

Because I'm not very good at woodwork, I would purchase a picture frame, probably a second hand one. slightly larger than the mirror. In fill the area between the two, and the frame with a different and complementary colour. Or even decorate some other way. Hope these give you some other ideas. Good luck
