Marilyn, I purchased wood from Lowes that has nice detail and the underside has a groove that fit right around the mirror without removing it from the wall. I know there is a name for the type of trim, but I cannot remember it. I painted the wood black and really love it. Maybe if you take the photo with you they could help you find the right trim. Hope this helps! Janis
You could paint the drawers, then decide to put slots, store things, make a colorful flower border. Paint around the mirror in a bright color. Another idea is to frame the mirror with wood strips.
Since you are a renter, try to find a peel and stick faux wood. You can adhere it to the mirroor and remove it when you leave. You could also get thin wood and Velcro it to the mirror.
See if you can find a cheap frame to go over it. You can paint it or gild it, or what ever you want. Also check thrift stores for interesting frames that are possibly more ornate. If the frame just fits on the mirror use some strips and dots one uses to mount posters. Just make sure the frame is not too heavy.
Saw directions on Pinterest.. Just go to Pinterest and ask how to frame a mirror ..
Looked fairly simple.
When I rented, I stained yard sticks and used velcro to adhere. When I moved out, I just took it down. Just an idea!
