I would start with a candle making kit. It should have the needed equipment in it including wax and a wax hardener, wicking. And a mould. You may have to purchase the scented wax pack separately. You will need to find something to melt the wax, but some kits might include it.
Find a good tutorial on how to make candles that works for you. Then just add essential oils to the wax(while it is still liquid).
The easy way is to use waxed cartons like quart or half gallon milk cartons, or juice, or half and half etc. Melt any candles (I buy the cheap 25 cent ones from Walmart) and add coloring from food dye OR a colored crayon (the waxy cheap ones work best). Add the scented candle melt and stir all until all melted and mixed, put a wick in the waxy carton and tie it to a pencil at the top to hold it up (lay the pencil across the top of the carton. Now pour the melted/aromatic wax into the carton. Iike to make at least 3 sizes/shapes to put on a table mat in the center of the table or a cabinet. For example, I may use one pint juice size, one quart, and one round from a pringles can. I save the wicks from the cheap candles I melt for the wick in the centers, but you can buy wick separately where you buy candle kits. The candle kits are handy and include everything, but are much more expensive and you still have to get the wax melts to add the aroma, or special oils.
