I hung mine, without the frames with colored clothes pins-looks cute!
get smaller sisal rope and hot glue to frames to use as hanger for the frames. Small tack in wall to hold picture.

Different size & shape frames is a good start. I would also not hang them straight, but sort of like a collage, if I spelled that right. Not as sloppy as collages can look, but sort of caddy corner to each other & fit kind like a puzzle. I would put your largest pictures of the adults in the house hold. The parents of the children, right about the center & extend the children from there. I did this & I have friends who asked me how I did it & my daughters tried to copy it & failed.
