Unknown... if it will break the plate... have you taken it to a ceramics shop and had them look at the cracks? They might be able to tell you if it will break if heated. They may also have a product that will allow you to add the new names without baking.IF you try baking it in the oven... I would put it in a COLD oven, bring up to temperature, bake for the minimum time required and let it cool in the oven without moving it.Helpful Reply -

Any piece which contains even a microscopic crack will eventually crack under temperature changes, because the stress in the material is concentrated at the end of the crack. It isn't necessary to have a large thermal shock for this happen.Helpful Reply -

There are special paint markers you can buy at Michaels craft store. you will be able to write what ever you want on the plate no baking require. Just have to work quickly and when your finished, let the paint dry according to direction. There usually oil based paint markers. Hope this helps. 😁Helpful Reply -
