Ideas for an outdoor winter wreath to replace my Christmas wreath

Question

Now that I have taken my outdoor Christmas wreath down, I need another winter type wreath to put on the outside of my front door.  I have seen several indoor winter wreaths, but nothing that would be appropriate for the outside of doors. My door is somewhat protected by an overhang, so it doesn't suffer the elements directly. Any good ideas for making one?

Make a burlap or deco mesh wreath (great instructions here or on Pintrest). You could also use a plain grapevine wreath or one made with artificial greenery. Embellish with snowmen, ribbon (for the last two) and your good to go. If using wooden snowmen be sure to use a couple of coats of polyurethane to protect from the weather.

I use a grapevine wreath decorated with artificial succulents.This adds just enough color until flower season begins.

I bought two twig heart shaped wreaths at our grocery store's floral department, which has surprisingly low prices. They look great on our front doors.

Hang ice skates on the door with greens and ribbon. Or, take the wreath and embellish with a wood snowman and snowflakes. Good luck and post pictures when you are done.

I use a greenery wreath that I sprayed lightly with white paint, it looks frosty, like winter. I have a small gourd snowman I can sit in there but don't always. I have some mossy sticks with fake snow on them that I use on it. Sorry, I don't have a picture.

Oh I can imagine what you are speaking of. Do you just spray the tip or do you spray lightly all over? I can see where a lovely frosty looking green wreath would be perfect!

Thanks,, The picture of the wreath is not mine, but one like mine. I used the tops of the C-Boost Bottles and painted them white. Then stenciled the letters onto them with black sharpies. I'm sure you could use almost anything round. Good Luck!

That's a good money-saving idea. I have lots of similar sized bottles from some of my grandsons' fruit drinks...those would work fine.
