What can I do to cover an ugly open space in the kitchen corner?

Three tier corner kitchen shelf to cover between cabinet and wall. after replacing the cabinets, an open area of the old wall, with yellowed wall paper and tiles, sticks out like a sore thumb. I can't find any DIY for this nor can I find a shelf to buy.

Photo would definitely help. However, it is a tall space can you use it for rooms and things like that? Or can you put accent shelves in there? Also could you paint the inside an accent color from your kitchen that could be super cute
How wide is it? Could you create wine rack inside? Paint or wallpaper behind it.
You might cover the ugly with a thin 1/4" of plywood cut and stained to match cabinents. I would probably get the tile off unless its totally flat.
