Make or have a frame made that fits the mirror and secure it well into the frame. I would make sure that when you put up the hanger you put it into a stud. Make sure that everything is made to hold more than the weight of the frame and mirror just to be safe. My mom had a heavy full length mirror on the wall and she used those corner plastic things on it too. I don't remember what they were called, we are talking about fifty years ago!
