What to do over a suede effect wall?

My friend has burgundy suede walls in a bedroom she wants to update. Any ideas about painting over the top rather than sanding or putting wallpaper over?

what about leaving it burgundy on one wall, paint the others beige and on the burgundy wall put dark branches up the wall to give it an offset color from the rest and making an outdoorsy look to the room? maybe add some strands of little twinkle lights

use a geometric stencil to paint a design in another color( beige or stone color) maybe

sand the walls to remove the texture.
